Those are really cool shots. I love photo's like this, old empty cinema have a wonderful sad quality. I was looking for sites about salisbury in the UK (its in Wiltshire) about 1.5 from London.
Having had a lot of good memories of the "old" mall, it makes me sad to see these once-familiar stores in a broken down condition. Whomever took these pictures had quite a rare opportunity to capture the end of this building's life-cycle, so thanks for posting them!
I love looking at these old photos, brings back memories of when i was a teen in the early-mid eighties. I would love to see more pics from when the mall was open and alive. Any chance of anyone out there having a store directory??
I, like a lot of people, dearly miss the old mall and am angry that the city let it die. If I had the money, I would rebuild it exactly as it was. I loved the warmness of it all and the pyramids you could slide down as a kid. The Christmas displays were magical. I could go on and on. The "new mall" was the beginning of the end, but it was never as good as The Salisbury Mall. If I can help in any way with your film, I would be honored. I actually used to work at WMDT TV-47 in Salisbury as a commercial editor and actually won the station's very first 1st Place Telly Award for small market commercial broadcast in 2001. Anyway, please contact me, as I would like to help in any way possible. I also have some exterior shots I took one day, because I was feeling really sad about the mall and had a feeling it would be gone soon.
Thank you so much for posting these, I had wondered for years what this place had looked like in its final years and regret that I never had a chance to look around in there before it was torn down.
These pictures are bringing back so many childhood memories.
